What is a PBR material?+

A PBR (Physically Based Rendering) material is a collection of texture maps (Normal, Albedo, Depth, Ambient Occlusion, and Roughness) that simulate how real-world materials interact with light. PBR workflows help create more realistic and consistent 3D renders across different rendering engines.

What is a PBR texture map?+

A Physically Based Rendering texture map is an image used to define a specific physical property of a material in a 3D scene. Multiple PBR texture maps work together to simulate how real-world surfaces interact with light, creating realistic materials for games, architectural visualization, product rendering, and visual effects.

What is a Normal map?+

A Normal map is a PBR texture map that simulates small surface details without adding extra geometry to a 3D model. It changes how light interacts with the surface to create the appearance of bumps, grooves, scratches, and other fine details while keeping the model lightweight. Normal maps are widely used in games, product visualization, and architectural rendering.

What is a Roughness map?+

A Roughness map is a PBR texture map that controls how smooth or rough a material appears by determining how light is reflected from its surface. Low roughness values produce shiny, reflective materials, while high roughness values create matte, diffuse surfaces. Roughness maps are essential for creating realistic materials such as metal, wood, stone, plastic, and fabric.

What is an Albedo map?+

An Albedo map, also called a Base Color map, is a PBR texture map that defines the natural color of a material without lighting, shadows, or reflections. It provides the foundation for a material's appearance and works together with other PBR texture maps to produce realistic rendering results.

What is Ambient Occlusion?+

An Ambient Occlusion map is a PBR texture map that simulates soft shadows in areas where light is naturally blocked, such as corners, creases, and small gaps. It enhances depth perception and surface detail, making 3D materials appear more realistic without increasing rendering complexity.

What is a Depth map?+

A Depth map, also called a Height map, is a PBR texture map that stores height information for a material's surface. It is used to create the appearance of depth, displacement, or relief by representing higher and lower areas of a texture in grayscale. Depth maps help add realistic surface variation to materials such as bricks, stone, wood, and terrain.

Yes. All image processing and texture generation take place locally on your Mac. No cloud processing, subscriptions, or internet connection are required.

How do I create a seamless texture from a photo?+

Texturity PBR automatically repairs seams and blends image edges to transform ordinary photos into seamless, tileable textures suitable for games, 3D models, and architectural visualization.

Can I generate PBR materials from my own photos?+

Yes. Texturity PBR generates complete set of 5 PBR textures (Albedo, Normal, Depth, Ambient Occlusion, and Roughness) based your imported photos.

What export formats are supported?+

Texturity PBR exports generated texture maps in high-quality JPEG, TIFF, or PDF formats.

Which 3D applications is Texturity PBR compatible with?+

Texturity PBR generates standard PBR texture maps that can be used with every application that supports Physically Based Rendering materials. Among such 3D software and game engines are; Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine, Cinema 4D, Maya, SketchUp, and Live Home 3D.

Can I generate PBR textures from stock photos?+

Yes, Texturity PBR has direct integration with Pixabay, Unsplash and Pexels image stocks, allowing you to search for and upload right into the program textures you like.

Does Texturity PBR support 4K textures?+

Texturity PBR generates PBR texture maps at a resolution of 1024 × 1024 pixels. If you need higher-resolution textures, use the Upscale feature in the Export tab to increase the resolution up to 4096 × 4096 pixels.

Can I preview materials before exporting?+

Yes. Texturity PBR lets you preview generated PBR materials in real time using the 3D PBR tab. Materials can be applied to a sphere, rounded cube, or flat plane to evaluate how they look on different surface types.

You can customize the preview by adjusting the environment lighting, direct light, texture scale, Normal map strength, Roughness strength, Metalness, and Ambient Occlusion to see how the material responds under different conditions.

Purchasing, Licensing, Support

How do I recover my license or purchase?+

If you purchased Texturity PBR from this website, you should have received an email containing your license code. Use that code to activate the app on your Mac.

If you purchased the app from the Mac App Store, download Texturity PBR again from your App Store account, no separate license code is required.

What is the difference between the website version and Mac App Store version?+

The only difference is where you get the app and updates from. The website version notifies you about available updates when you launch the app. The Mac App Store version is updated through the Updates tab in the App Store app.

Is Texturity PBR a one-time purchase?+

Yes. Texturity PBR is a one-time purchase with no additional in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Can I use textures for commercial purposes?+

Yes, you can use texture images generated with Texturity PBR for commercial purposes.

How do I request a refund?+

Refunds for Mac App Store purchases are processed by Apple. Request a refund from Apple.

How do I download Texturity PBR?+

Once the payment is made, we will email you a confirmation email with a download link.

If the payment is made through the Mac App Store, you will be able to download the app in the App Store program Store > Account menu. Download on the Mac App Store.
