Auxiliary Objects

The Dimension Tool

The Dimension tool lets you measure and show the distance between two points in your 2D layout.

Dimensions

To add a dimension:

  1. Select the Dimension tool in the 2D toolbar.
    Dimensions
  2. Touch the screen in the first point, and drag your finger towards the second point.
  3. At the second point, take your finger off the screen.

To remove a dimension, bring up its contextual menu and choose the Delete command.

A selected dimension line displays three handles. To adjust their locations, move one of the green handles.

When you add a Dimension tool or move handles on its ends, these handles can snap to walls or other objects. A dimension line handle can permanently snap to corners of object frames and to room corners. In this case, when you move an object or wall on the floor plan, the dimension line follows it, continuously updating the measured distance. A dimension line snapped to a middle of an object won't update this way.

To change the font, size or color of text, use the text formatting tools in the Inspector.
