layout with angled walls

Hi, I am just starting out using this. I live in a small condo and was hoping to draw it out and use the program to do some interior design and figure out the best layout of furniture. But I am stuck drawing the layout of my condo. It is not a rectangular space with 90 degree angles. When I draw it out, and then view it in 3D, it makes the outside a perfect rectangle with 90 degree angles and then makes my interior walls odd angles. When in reality, the four corners are not 90 degrees but some of the interior walls are. How do I fix this?

Also, how do I make some interior walls not go all the way to the ceiling?

Attached is an image of the layout of the condo that I am trying to recreate.

Hi, I just made a quick sketch similar to your condo. Is this what you want to achieve? The single wall in the 3d view I opened in 2d elevation view, and cut out the top with the "cut out tool". You can also extract a shape from the wall ( see a post further down named " the versatile wall panel tool ". Lastly you can also use a shape from the shapes library.

When I made the drawing I first used the "floor and ceiling poly tool" and then drew the walls with the "straight wall tool"

Yes, that looks similar to what I want to do. Thank you, I'll have to try that out. I guess I was just using the wall tool. I'm very new to this.

In fact, you can just use the straight wall tool too, if that is more convenient. I guess you must have done some other error.

Yes, it is strange because I drew the outer walls first with the straigh wall tool and then drew the inner walls with the same tool. It all looks correct in 2D, but when I view it in 3D, the outside walls are a perfect rectangle with 90 degree angles and then the interior walls are at strange angles.

Have you checked that your "view" is perspective and not orthographic?

Thank you. I tried some of the things you mentioned this morning and got it to work. I was at work yesterday and not in front of my computer that has this so I couldn't the things you mentioned until now. I have one other issue but I'll start a new thread as it is a completely different issue.

Thanks!
