Roof on each of two different stories

Postby andym2009 » November 23rd, 2017, 9:24 am

I am using the Standard Version of Live Home 3D and a Mac.

I have the ground floor and 1st floor set up.

Some of the rooms on the ground floor are outside the external walls of the 1st floor.

For this reason I need to be able to add a roof to both stories but I cannot do that.

I achieved it once, but now the application does not allow it to happen.

Any ideas?

Did you try manually adding a roof using only the walls you want from that story? (using the tools icon and add roof or add poly roof)

The tool suggested by amingermany is not available in the Standard edition.

There are two things you should take into account:
1. The Building tab of the Inspector has two buttons - "Add a roof on the current floor" and "Add a roof on the floor above". You should use the appropriate button. For example, if the walls are on the current floor, then "add the roof above". In the same case, "adding the roof on the current floor" will produce no effect because all space of the floor is already taken by the building (walls and internal space of the house).

2. The contour of the auto roof (the only one available in the Standard edition) is defined by the contour of the external walls. If there is no walls, the auto roof cannot be added.
