Transparency and text wrapping

Postby Captain Slocum » July 31st, 2014, 2:12 pm

I have an irregular image with a transparent background that I want to wrap text around. In Pages, text wraps around the object's edges but I can't see how to do this in Printworks, it just wraps around the image bounding box. Is it possible to preserve the transparency and wrap to the edges of the object within the image in Printworks?

Hi,

Printworks cannot wrap text around an image using the transparency (alpha channel). To do what you need, draw a rough outline of the visible image using the Spline tool. Then turn on the "Object causes wrap" property and set the Opacity of the outline to zero.

Yes, that works fine, thanks for the prompt reply.

However, I cannot get the text to flow both sides of an object, only one side or the other. Is this by design or a bug?

This hasn't been implemented yet.
