Hi all,

I've been a user of Art Text for a few months now and although I'm not a qualified graphic artist, I have been known to throw a logo together on occasion. ;)

Earlier today, I was toying around with the CMYK concept for a logo and I have produced a few draft images that I'd like your opinions, good or bad on. :)

Okay, here goes nothing. ;)

Thanks in advance. :D

I'd not add the colored background as you have in Logo concept #2 because the blue dominates here not being one of CMYK colors. Probably everything except four C, M, Y and K panels should be in gray scale.

Hi
My (very humble) opinions:
- most fonts are unreadable (the worst being #4) and/or overcomplicated (#2)
- as Nick said, the bright blue background is not a CMYK color (and should be difficult to print as is)
- the words "(Graphic) Design" don't seem to be "connected" to the other parts of the logo. You could try to use only one font (surely a sans-serif one: Helvetica, Gill Sans, Futura, Avant Garde, Century Gothic, Myriad…)
- you could try to make the bottom part (Graphic Design) the same width that the top part (CMYK) using size and kern
- shadow, mostly on thin font (#3, #4), adds a little bit of "haze" that doesn't help to make text easy to read
- is the white background the logo boundary?
- what is the main message?
-- Graphic Design as this is a logo for a graphic designer?
-- or CMYK as this is a logo for a printer?
