Anybody ever encounter the error "Swift Publisher 3 cannot be opened because of a problem" before?

Swift Publisher has worked flawlessly for me in the past. It suggests I check with the developer to make sure SP3 works with this version of Mac OS X and, as the message suggested, I submitted a report to Apple.

I'm running OS X 10.6.8 with all the latest updates. I purchased SP3 through the Mac App Store and tried a complete uninstall and reinstall through the App Store with no success. Here are the details of the error I encountered:

Hi Artisan,

Our programmers will check your log on Monday. If above is a part of the log, please post a full copy, or send it to support@belightsoft.com

Try to download Swift Publisher from our sit and see if it can open. This way we'll find out if the problem with the new version itself or with the incomplete installation.

Thanks for your quick reply. The download from your website installed perfectly so it looks like the problem is with the App Store.

Unfortunately, I'm still at a dilemma because the download from your website is not registered and I can't produce any work for my client due to the limitation of the unlicensed copy. Does the App Store usually respond fairly quickly with tissues like this?

Thanks!

Try to remove the program completely using these paths to the program components:
1. Program itself
/Applications/Swift Publisher 3.app
2. File with settings
~/Library/Preferences/com.belightsoft.SwiftPublisher3.appStore.plist
2. All the rest
~/Library/Containers/com.belightsoft.SwiftPublisher3.appStore/

To access the Library folder, in the Finder choose Go > Go to Folder (Cmd-Shift-G). Then type "~/Library/" into the edit box, and click the Go button.

Then download Swift Publisher using the AppStore.app

I can't say how quickly App Store replies. Their help may be needed if complete reinstalling won't fix the problem.

Nick,

Thanks for your help. I did all you suggested and it didn't change the outcome.

The App Store's help for third party applications is almost useless. I followed their advice and downloaded another app to see if it would launch. It did.=( Their advice in their Knowledge Base was to contact the developer.

Rather than wait this to be resolved I'll just go and purchase the software from Belight directly and bypass the whole issue. Thanks for all your help.

Wally

Wally,

Please wait a bit, don't purchase a license from our site. The programmers are going to say what is wrong with the program very soon.

We are going to send you a license code. Please send an email to support@belightsoft.com containing the link to this topic and an App Store receipt for Swift Publisher.

Hallo Nick, I have the same problem than Artisan.

I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on a MacBook 1.1 and I purchased SP3 through the Mac App Store.
Two days ago I have updated through AppStore the version 3.3.1, and the app doesn't open, and the message and the details of the problem are the same of Wally. I can't reach anymore no one of my projects.

Can you help me? Thank you very much, and excuse me for my bad english.

Sandra, with greetings from Italy (Maiori, in Amalfi Coast)

Hi Sandra,

Please run the 'check for updates' procedure on your Mac to make sure that all system components are up to date. If after this the program doesn't start as before, contact support@belightsoft.com You need to provide your App Store receipt for Swift Publisher and a new log as above. Please mention also this post (add the link to page) in your email.

Nick
