saving label to address book

Hello,
I like the label printing program, especially putting a time and date field in the label.
I have created many custom labels, but I do not want to print a whole page of the same label. How do I do a merge print from an address group? The labels are not addresses, so how can I save them to a group and print in this manner.

Also, is there a smart phone app( to print wirelessly) or can I save the data to a thumb drive and still get the date field to fill?

Thank You,
tkuper

Hi tkuper,

You haven't specified which of our programs you are using Printfolio or Labels & Addresses. Both have the merge printing mode but with different ways of importing data. You can check the Help for details.

We don't have label printing software for smartphones. Can you please tell a bit more about what you mean? Is it a possibility to print the same labels on different computers?

Nick,
Thank you for your response.

I am using Labels & Addresses to make labels with different colored backgrounds, which I have been able to accomplish. I can save the labels, (Mac OS X), but when I bring the list up, I can not get a different label to populate each blank spot on the label sheet. I know I could probably get the list of labels to a memory stick, but I'm not sure if the date and time would print without the main software program.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Printing different information on each label is explained in the Mail Merge and Printing tutorial and in the Help. Labels & Addresses can import and store data using different ways: import instantly from Address Book, store imported data in the cache, or in the built-in database. To print using another computer, you need to transfer to it the program, document and files contained the data (Address Book, cache, internal database, or original spreadsheet or text file you imported from).

For an alternative, you can print to a PDF file on the "main" computer by choosing PDF > Save as PDF in the system Print dialog. Then print this file later using some device capable sending files to the printer. The Date & Time field will turn into constant text when you create a PDF.
