Thanks.

Well, I did not realize Image Tricks was a separate program from Swift Publisher2. So, I just bought it. Looks like I found my answer.
Kind of lame as it seems like it should be part of the package. I hope I don't find out iwork could have done it.

The good news is the programs have been so intuitive so far I am not bitter.

Image Tricks plug-in is included into Swift Publisher. To edit an image, you need to double-click on it in a Swift Publisher document.

Hi
On the other side, using the stand-alone Image Tricks application, especially Pro version, adds access to numerous Quartz compositions and BeLight/third parties Core Image filters.
If you need more controls when converting color images to black/white ones, have a look at these free effects:

I went through the manual and didn't find this. Great, I just wasted 20 bucks.
Now I am aggravated.

I did so. I do not see a black and white option. I see Bi Color and Monochrome.

Am I missing something?

Choose the Color Monochrome filter and set the color to white or light gray.

Hi all
Another ways to get black and white images from color ones are:
- setting saturation to zero using Color Controls (this is used in Photoshop/Pixelmator/Acorn… when selecting… Desaturate)
- using two different greyscales with False Color
Note, yet, that even if you'll get a black and white (greyscales) image, it remains a RGB color mode image!
