Hello,
When selecting filter (by clicking on its name) you get a preview of this effect but to bypass this preview, you have select the crop tool.
So why not add a bypass "behavior"?
With a Command-click on the current selected filter, the preview should be the previous state of your image but you don't lose the settings of the current selected/bypassed filter.
A more easy way to compare your image with and without filter.
