I don't seem to be able to use an image mask with Smart Shapes. Is there a way to use a mask to create a gradient on a Smart Shape?

BCC (and other BeLight applications as SP/DC…) don't permit to use
- masks
- tiles
- edition in IT plug-in
when using Smart Shapes; :^(

An easy way to turn this (annoying) limitation should be to
- insert and set the wished Smart Shape in your document
- copy it (Cmd-C)
- then paste it to Preview (Cmd-N) or Image Tricks application (not the plug-in) using Cmd-Shift-N (I name these two applcations because they're "freewares" but you can, of course, use other applications to do that).
- copy it from the chosen app
- then paste it in SP/BCC…
You may now apply
- masks
- tiles
- and even edit this impage with the Image Trick plug-in.

Note also that when pasting from Preview, you get a pdf image and when pasting from IT you get a bitmap (tiff) image.
Of course, your new pasted image is now a "normal" image (no more a Smart Shape), so no way to use the two sliders Side Count and Curve :^(
An example using the Circle Smart Shape, masked with Wall1 mask and tiled:

Hope this helps.

Thank you! Your suggestion worked and I also found that I could just use one of the "Basic Shapes" within the program and apply a mask to it. Very glad I was able to create the card I needed.
