Hi All

Sorry to ask this, I'm going round in circles trying to find out how to ..
get my 'spine' graphics/text appearing ON my cd tray inserts prior to printing

I have all the elements but cannot do this bit

Is it a question of merging the two separate elements (insert + spine) on printing
or
(somehow) adding the text/graphics onto the insert element itself ?

Cheers

Hi petermumme,

The templates for tray inserts have two spines on the sides by default. On the canvas they are separated by the dashed lines. The design templates in the Assistant include a tray insert. See how it looks like.

Probably you have selected a CD Cover instead of a CD Tray Insert. Check the type in the Design Element tab of the Inspector (below the Change Element drop-down menu).

Thanks for the response Nick, sorry I can't find the solution ..

I do have a cd tray insert here, it has a spine (separated by full line) on each side

How do I enter text onto the spines though ?

Does the 'spine' element merge with the tray insert on printing (with no preview) ?

Or do I add text boxes to the spines on the insert element directly ?
And, if so, how do I align the text vertically ?

Cheers

Hi Peter,

To enter text onto a spine, add a regular text box. Type text. Then rotate it by 90 degrees. Or, add a vertical text box. All this should be done on the canvas before printing.

Two spines present in the Tray Insert design element are its parts and cannot be separated. The program provides separate spines as well.
