I am trying to print CDs with an RX680 with Disc Cover v 2.3.1.

When I go to print on a CD, the printer keeps wanting to print on paper. I have tried to read through the forum and the user manual on how to make the settings correct but I still cannot get it to work.

Can someone please help me? Thank you.

Hi Scott,

To print on a disc, you should:
1) have the printer driver installed;
2) set up the A4 paper format in File > Page Setup;
3) select the "Media Type" in the standard Print dialog.

Find details here (post #4):

Nick,

Thank you but I followed all the instructions to the letter. The printer does not seem to recognize that I want to print to a CD. It keeps giving me an error message that I must remove the CD tray so it can print on paper.

Then I have to turn the printer off and back on to make the error message go away.

The only way I was able to make this software work before was to choose both print trays, one by one, from the first print dialogue window. However that was working on another computer. Now I am trying to make print a CD from my laptop over the network.

I know the printer network is working because it will print on paper, but it will not on CD. Any other suggestions? Thank you.

When you select a network printer, the standard print dialog may contain less print settings. For example, the Print Settings section (where you select the media type) may be unavailable.

Try to print on a disc using the Epson EasyPrint utility (http://support.epson.com/easyprint/). Does it print on CDs over the network?

Here is how I solved this problem. It all came down to not having the correct CD print driver installed. It is a lengthy process to go through but here are the steps you need to do in order to get Disc Cover to work properly for printing CDs.

I hope this info will help anyone else that may have a problem with an Epson printer working with Leopard.
