Epson Artisan 837 DVD Printing Procedures

Postby harkangelproductions » August 23rd, 2014, 11:54 am

I read a thread here about the 837 being used to print on discs, but I am trying to do the same and can't do it! I used a couple different Epson printers to print on DVDs in the past, but this one keep spitting my disc out.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

The second screenshot is alright. You need to check settings in the system Print dialog (screenshot 1).
1. Switched the Presets option to Default Settings.
2. Check the media settings. Your Print dialog seems to be in the "minimum details" state. Click on the Show Details button below the preview. Click on the Layout popup menu and choose Print Settings. Finally, set Media Type to CD/DVD.

Nick, I followed all the way until you mentioned the "choose Print Settings." After choosing "Layout", there is no popup and no way to set Media Type.

In the middle of your picture, there is "Layout" which is one of sections with settings. If you click on Layout, you can see the names of other sections. If none of them is called Print Settings or similarly, open one after another and try to find the Media Type control. I cannot do this on my computer to verify the names of controls because I don't have exactly the same printer driver as yours.

Once you have found the media type settings, the CD/DVD may appear to be disabled. If it is, one of possible reasons is the way the printer is connected to the computer. To print on discs, some prints require to be connected to the computer via the USB cable.
