When importing music from iTunes, I can't find out how to import the name of the composer (like Beethoven) in addition to the name of the artist (like Claudio Arrau) and the title ( like Sonata ...)
Is it possible ?
Thanks

Hi Paulhac,

Disc Cover does import the composer name. The question is how to display it in you design. In the Import panel, you can choose one of predefined formats like Artist - Title (Time). None of them includes the imported name of the composer. You need to create a custom format with the Composer field as described here:

I just tried every field available in the custom format list of fields.
All of them are working except two : composer and genre !
Is it a specific issue of the French version of DC ?

I've switched the language to French and re-opened iTunes 10.5.1 (42) and Disc Cover 3.0.5 (v649). Created a new custom format with Compositeur and Genre fields. The respective information was imported correctly. I did this on Lion 10.7.2. What versions of the software and Mac OS are you using?

Please make sure that these fields aren't empty in iTunes. Also try to re-import the tracks that have the composer and genre information.

I work with Mac OS 10.7.2 and iTunes 10.5.1 (42) and Disc Cover 3.0.5 (v649)
Importing from iTunes, composer, genre, and picture are still missing.
If I import from the music file (going into the iTunes library), I get the genre and picture, but the composer is still missing.
The genre which is "Classique" in iTunes becomes "Classical" in DC

The genre which is "Classique" in iTunes becomes "Classical" in DC

DC displays the imported information without any modification. I think this is a problem with localization of iTunes.

1. In iTunes, right-click in the track you imported and choose Get Info (Obtenir des informations). Can you see there all info you wish to import?

2. In DC, open the Preferences (Cmd-,) and go to the Importing tab. Invert the state of the "Use AppleScript..." check box and try to import again.

3. What's the format of the audio track you are importing from? If it is not mp3, maybe Disc Cover doesn't support importing certain data fields. Anyway it can help, if you send a sample audio file to support@belightsoft.com with the link to this forum. We'll try to import it and repeat the problem you have.

1. In Get Info, everything is fine
2. Invert the state of the "Use AppleScript..." doesn't change anything
3. The format is mp3

I send a sample audio file to support@belightsoft.com

Thank you for your support

Thanks for sending the file, i"ll check it.

What if you quit Disc Cover and iTunes, select English as the preferred language, and then try to import? Maybe the issue is linked with the French localizations.

Hi Paulhac,

On my computer the French and English localizations work correctly. Please see the screen shots I've emailed to you. Can you create the same custom format as in my pictures, import the information of this track and drag it onto the canvas? Will you get the same result?

Nick
