Working with Layers

Introduction to Layers and Objects

The object term is used here for text or an image. Note that parts of text can be separate objects as the text and two stars in the picture below. An object can be selected, in this state its resize handles (white squares) are displayed.


Objects in Art Text are located one over another forming a layered structure. One layer contains only one object. Adding or removing a layer means also adding or removing an object. No object can exist without a layer. Thus, the object and layer are often synonyms in this documentation.
