Swift Publisher Version Changes

What's new in Swift Publisher v.2.3 since 2.2

Version 2.3 features the following enhancements:

New Functionalities:

• Import from Apple iPhoto 08 improved: Events library now supported.
• Auto scroll activates when an object is created or moved outside window area.

Program Improvements:

• Export to PDF using Quartz filters fixed (for Mac OS X Leopard).
• Ability to add text box with a mouse click restored (when Extended Text tool activated).
• Representation of table cell with image at large zoom value fixed.
• Send Backward and Bring Forward commands fixed for objects located on Master pages.
• Selecting file format in export dialog fixed.
• Program stability improved.

What's new in Swift Publisher v.2.2 since 2.1.2

Version 2.2 features the following enhancements:

General:

• Improved compatibility with Mac OS X Leopard Beta (version 10.5. beta).
• Option to set default zoom value for new documents (Preferences Dialog).
• Clear command becomes available (Context menu) for selected table cell, which deletes text and background image.

Import/Export:

• Importing pictures from iPhoto 6.0.6 and higher is fixed.
• LZW compression becomes available when exporting to TIFF.
• Option to choose Color Model (RGB/CMYK) when exporting to raster formats (TIFF and JPEG).
• Memory usage optimized during export and printing.
• Documents containing user pictures got lower size thanks to automatic compression (only for TIFF format).

Interface Improvements:

• Default settings for pasting copied text has changed. Standard shortcut (Cmd+V) will paste text maintaining the copied text format. Alternatively, you can use command to Paste and Match Style (Cmd+Opt+Shift+V).
• Cmd+Return shortcut was added to exit text editing mode.
• Option to set numeric value for the image opacity added in addition to the existing slider (Inspector, Image Tab).
• Extra Space field behavior fixed (in Inspector, Text tab).
• Angle Shadow field behavior fixed (Inspector, Fill & Shadow tab).

Bug Fixes:

• Problem with changing shape of Smart Shapes with an inserted image is solved.
• Changing text box positioning via Inspector or menu (Move to... command) while being in text edit mode fixed.
• Program stability improved.

What's new in Swift Publisher v.2.1.2 since 2.1

Version 2.1.2 features the following enhancements:

Interface:

• Options to align objects according to center axis were added to Inspector (Alignment tab).
• For accessibility purposes increase/decrease font size shortcut has changed to system standard Cmd + “+” and Cmd + “-”. Zoom shortcut has changed to Ctrl+Cmd+“=”, Ctrl+Cmd+“-”.

Improvements:

• Object positioning improved when zoomed.
• Inserting page numbering and cut marks corrected for rotated pages.
• Smart snap for text blocks fixed.
• Undesired page scrolling when exit text editing in tables corrected.
• Convert Text to Curves behavior fixed on repeating export.
• Problem with program crash at printing solved.
• Applying bleeds and cut marks (for horizontally oriented pages) improved when printed.

Version 2.1 features the following enhancements:

Interface:

• Centimeters were added in Measurement Units.
• Hold mode for text box creation updated (use double click on Create Text Box button to enable Hold mode).
• Program crash while using Inspector without open documents fixed.
• Guides placing using Layout Guide dialog was updated.

Pages:

• Program crash while rotating page with background objects (objects on background layer) fixed.
• Copying margins while using Duplicate Master Page option fixed.
• Problem with Inserting layout guides (Menu Insert/Layout Guides) when Master Page Margins are present, fixed.

Printing and Export/Import:

• Saving EPS and PDF export parameters fixed.
• Default print settings are used when “Skip dialog with advanced printing settings” option is enabled.
• Memory usage optimization while importing images from Finder.

Tables:

• Difficulties with precise cursor positioning while editing large text boxes fixed.
• Alt+Mouse Click shortcut to create text block for the page width added.
• Problems with linked text boxes editing solved.
• Problems with text disappearance while changing “Object causes wrap” mode solved.

What's new in Swift Publisher v.2 since 1.3.1

Version 2.0 features the following enhancements:

General:

• 20 new designs added (in Boxed edition only).
• Master pages option was added, allowing you to create common background for several pages (for page numbering, heading, background picture, etc.).
• Page thumbnails panel to preview and manage pages was added.
• Tables are supported, place text and various graphics into table cells.
• Imposition option became available in print dialog, to arrange brochure pages automatically.
• Text to Curve feature lets you transform the document into vector image, this will help to avoid problems with font absence when you send a document to a printshop.
• Art Text integration allows to create high quality textual graphics, headings, logos, icons, web banners and buttons.

Interface:

• Hold Editing Modes (Text Box, Box, Line) via double click added.
• Shortcuts to navigate through Inspector Tabs added (Cmd + 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). Hide Inspector Shortcut added (Cmd+0).

Working with Images:

• Image cropping directly in the document becomes available.
• An option to fill Smart Shapes with pictures and make creative frames for your photos.

Text Editing:

• An option to set document default font was added to Program Preferences, Design Tab.
• An option to set Line-Breaks added (Shift+Return).

Printing:

• Program Printing dialog with new settings added. You have an option to skip it, accessible from Program Preferences.
• An option to set Bleeds and Cut Marks added to the Program Printing dialog.

Export:

• An option to set Bleeds and Cut Marks when Exporting added.
• Adjustable export to EPS added.
• Text to Curve feature while export to PDF and EPS added.

Other:

• An option to set the page color added.
• New Smart Fields added (Document Title, Document Author).
• An option to align on first selected object is added (Inspector Alignment Tab).
• Spell Check improved.
