The result of your work with Swift Publisher is mostly a printed copy of your
document. You can print it by yourself with a desktop printer.
Also, your document can be printed by a commercial printing company. In this case, you need to export it to one of the supported formats: PDF, TIFF or JPEG, see Exporting Documents for more information.
To start printing, select File > Print in the menu or click the Print button on the toolbar. The Advanced Print Settings dialog will come up. If you don't want to use advanced options, skip them by selecting the Option to skip dialog with advanced printing settings in the Printing section of program Preferences. In this case the standard print dialog will come up.
Use the Advanced Print Settings dialog to:
Note: The Print Quality parameter in the Preferences dialog significantly affects printing speed and quality. When Print Quality is high, the printing speed is low. And vice versa. In most cases the default value of 300 dpi is sufficient.
Fold marks will help you to accurately fold documents if you are going to fold them manually.
To define the location of fold marks, use the following technique. Let's illustrate it on a tri-fold document.
Select the Insert > Layout Guides menu item. In the dialog that will come up specify the number of columns (in our case 3), and leave 1 in Row. Select Whole page and click OK. Two margins will separate the page in three columns (you can ignore other guides). Use the Line tool to draw short lines (almost dots) where the guides cross the page border. Open the Fill & Shadow tab of Inspector (Window > Inspector > Fill & Shadow) and using the Thickness tool make these lines as thin as possible. You may use the Opacity slider on the Colors panel to control their visibility.
It's not always necessary to draw fold marks manually - have a look at your layout, maybe there is an image or another object the border of which passes along the fold line and may be used as a fold mark.
