Swift Publisher Menus


The "Swift Publisher" Menu

About Swift Publisher
Displays the dialog with information about the program.

License...
Provides access to the registration information.

Check for Updates
Checks for the latest updates on the Internet:
http://www.belightsoft.com/swiftpublisher/update/

Preferences (Cmd-",")
Brings up the program Preferences dialog.

Quit (Cmd-Q)
Exits the application.

The "File" Menu

New (Cmd-N)
Creates a new blank document.

New from Assistant... (Cmd-Shift-N)
Creates a new document with the help of the Assistant.

Open... (Cmd-O)
Opens an existing document.

Open Recent >
Contains the list of the documents you last worked with.

Close (Cmd-W)
Closes the active document window.

Save (Cmd-S)
Saves the active document.

Save As... (Cmd-Shift-S)
Saves the active document with a new name.

Save As Template (Cmd-Shift-Option-S)
Saves the active document as a template.

Revert
Cancels all the changes made after the last saving of the current document.

Export...
Saves the active document as a graphic file (PDF, TIFF or JPEG format).

Page > Add
Inserts a blank page after the current one.

Page > Insert
Inserts a blank page before the current one.

Page > Remove
Deletes the current page.

Page > Duplicate
Duplicates the current page.

Page > Move Page Forward
Page > Move Page Backward
Changes the position of the current page relative to others.

Page > Rotate Page Left
Page > Rotate Page Right
Rotates the current page.

Document Setup...
Opens the Document Setup dialog.

Page Setup... (Cmd-Shift-P)
Presents the standard Mac OS X dialog for changing the size, orientation and other parameters of the active page.

Print... (Cmd-P)
Brings up the Print dialog.

The "Edit" Menu

Undo (Cmd-Z)
Reverses the last operation you performed.

Redo (Cmd-Shift-Z)
Reverses the last Undo operation.

Cut (Cmd-X)
Removes the selected objects or text and places the selection onto the Clipboard.

Copy (Cmd-C)
Copies the selected objects or text onto the Clipboard.

Paste (Cmd-V)
Pastes the content of the Clipboard into the document.

Paste and Match Style (Cmd-Opt-Shift-V)
Pastes text from the Clipboard into the text box. The inserted text takes the style used for the existing text in the box (or the default style if the box is empty).

Duplicate (Cmd-D)
Duplicates the selected objects.

Delete (Del)
Removes the selected objects.

Edit LinkBack Item
Opens the selected LinkBack object in the corresponding applicaton for editing.

Find > Find... (Cmd-F)
Opens the Find dialog box.

Find > Next (Cmd-G)
Finds the next occurrence of the word or phrase entered into the Find dialog box.

Find > Previous (Cmd-Shift-G)
Finds the previous occurrence of the word or phrase entered into the Find dialog box.

Find > Use Selection for Find (Cmd-E)
Finds the next occurrence of a word or phrase that you have selected in the text box.

Find > Jump to Selection (Cmd-J)
Shows the selected object(s) in the document view.

Spelling > Spelling... (Cmd-":")
Opens the Spelling dialog.

Spelling > Check Spelling (Cmd-";")
Checks spelling.

Spelling > Check Spelling as You Type
Checks spelling as you type.

Select All (Cmd-A)
Selects all objects in the document.

Special Characters (Cmd-Opt-T)
Open the Character Palette.

The "Insert" Menu

Vertical Guide
Adds a vertical guide.

Horizontal Guide
Adds a horizontal guide.

Layout Guides...
Opens Layout Guides dialog.
See Rulers, Guides and Margins for details.

Image > From File
Inserts an image from a file into the active document.

Image > Generate Random
Inserts a randomly generated image.

Image > Search on the Internet
Searches images on the Internet.

Smart Shape
Opens the list of Smart Shapes.

Text Box
Inserts a text box.

Art Text
Inserts art text into the document.

Table
Inserts a table.

Date & Time
Inserts current date and time.

Page Number
Inserts the number of the current page.

Line Break (Shift-Return)
Inserts the Line Break character.

Linked Text Box On The Next Page (Cmd-Opt-L)
Inserts a linked text box on the next page. Location and size of the new box will be same as the current box has. If necessary, a new page will be added to the document.

The "View" Menu

Zoom In (Cmd-Ctrl-"=")
Enlarges the current view.

Zoom Out (Cmd-Ctrl-"-")
Zooms out on the current view.

Actual Size
Displays the document in its actual size (100%).

Fit Width (Cmd-Ctrl-W)
Scales the document so its width fits the view window width.

Fit Height (Cmd-Ctrl-H)
Scales the document so its height fits the view window height.

Fit Page (Cmd-Ctrl-P)
Scales the document so that the entire current page fits the view window.

Show/Hide Rulers (Cmd-R)
Shows or hides rulers.

Show/Hide Margins and Guides (Cmd-\)
Shows or hides margins and guides.

Show/Hide Object Borders (Cmd-Ctrl-\)
Shows or hides borders of objects.

Show/Hide Background/Foreground
Opens the selected layer (background or foreground) for editing.

Paper Color
Enables/disables displaying pages with paper color set in the Document Setup dialog.

Toggle Clipart Panel (Cmd-Opt-C)
Opens/closes the Clipart panel.

Clipart > Clipart Collection
Clipart > iPhoto Library
Clipart > Smart Shapes
Clipart > Custom Folder
Opens the specified tab of the Clipart panel.

Show/Hide Pages Preview (Cmd-Opt-P)
Opens/closes the Pages Preview panel.

First Page
Opens the first page.

Page Forward
Opens the next page.

Page Backward
Opens the previous page.

Last Page
Opens the last page.

Customize Toolbar...
Opens the Customize Toolbar dialog.

The "Format" Menu

Font > Show/Hide Fonts (Cmd-T)
Displays the Font dialog.

Font > Bold (Cmd-B)
Font > Italic (Cmd-I)
Font > Underline (Cmd-U)
Font > Outline
Modifies attributes of the selected text.

Font > Bigger (Cmd-"+")
Font > Smaller (Cmd-"-")
Increases/decreases the size of the selected text.

Font > Kern
Font > Ligature
Font > Baseline
Modifies properties of the selected text.

Text > Align Left (Cmd-{)
Text > Center
Text > Align Right (Cmd-})
Text > Justify
Aligns text to the left, right, center or justifies it.

Text > Writing Direction
Changes the writing direction.

Text > Hyphenation
Allows hyphenation.

Image > Crop (Cmd-K)
Activates/deactivates the crop tool.

Image > Edit...
Opens the selected image in the built-in image editor.

Image > Tile
Creates a tiled image.

Add Shadow
Adds shadow to the selected object.

Bring Forward (Cmd-Option-F)
Bring to Front (Cmd-Shift-F)
Send Backward (Cmd-Option-B)
Send to Back (Cmd-Shift-B)
Moves the selected objects in front or behind all other objects.

Move to Background/Foreground
Moves the selected object(s) to another layer.

Align > Left Edges
Aligns the left edges of the selected objects.

Align > Right Edges
Aligns the right edges of the selected objects.

Align > Top Edges
Aligns the top edges of the selected objects.

Align > Bottom Edges
Aligns the bottom edges of the selected objects.

Align > Centers Horizontally
Aligns the centers of the selected objects horizontally.

Align > Centers Vertically
Aligns the centers of the selected objects vertically.

Align to First > Left Edges
Aligns the left edges of the selected objects to the left edge of the first selected one.

Align to First > Right Edges
Aligns the right edges of the selected objects to the right edge of the first selected one.

Align to First > Top Edges
Aligns the top edges of the selected objects to the top edge of the first selected one.

Align to First > Bottom Edges
Aligns the bottom edges of the selected objects to the bottom edge of the first selected one.

Align to First > Centers Horizontally
Aligns the centers of the selected objects horizontally to the center of the first selected one.

Align to First > Centers Vertically
Aligns the centers of the selected objects vertically to the center of the first selected one.

Distribute > Spacing Vertically
Creates equal vertical spacing between the edges of the selected objects.

Distribute > Spacing Horizontally
Creates equal horizontal spacing between the edges of the selected objects.

Distribute > Centers Vertically
Creates equal vertical spacing between the centers of the selected objects.

Distribute > Centers Horizontally
Creates equal vertical spacing between the centers of the selected objects.

Move to Center (Horizontally)
Moves selected objects horizontally to the center.

Move to Center (Vertically)
Moves selected objects vertically to the center.

Edit Text Styles...
Opens the Text Styles dialog.

Add Text Style from Selection...
Opens the Text Styles dialog and adds a new text style.
See Text Styles for details.

Lock Guides
Locks guides to prevent them from being moved.

The "Window" Menu

Minimize (Cmd-M)
Minimizes the currently active window.

Bring All to Front
Moves all application windows in front of the windows of other active applications.

Show/Hide Inspector (Cmd-0)
Minimizes the currently active window.

Inspector > Geometry (Cmd-1)
Inspector > Fill & Shadow (Cmd-2)
Inspector > Image (Cmd-3)
Inspector > Text (Cmd-4)
Inspector > Table (Cmd-5)
Inspector > Alignment (Cmd-6)
Opens the specified tab of the Inspector window.

Show/Hide Colors (Cmd-Shift-C)
Displays or hides the system Colors window.

Show/Hide Fonts (Cmd-T)
Displays or hides the system Font window.

Show/Hide Comment Panel
Hides/shows the Comment panel.

The "Help" Menu

Swift Publisher Help (Cmd-?)
Opens Help documentation, delivered with the application.
