Disc Cover

Printers Supported by Disc Cover for Printing Directly on CD/DVD

What Does "Compatible Direct-on-CD Printer" Mean?

To print on discs, the printer must have a special CD/DVD tray. Supporting a printer means that Disc Cover has CD/DVD tray dimensions and disc coordinates on the tray of the given printer. Any Macintosh compatible printer will work well for printing on paper.

Instructions for Owners of Canon and Epson Printers

Canon

With Disc Cover open, choose File > Change Layout... (from the File menu at the top of the screen). In the windows that comes up choose Canon (CD Tray) from the Manufacturer list, then the tray type corresponding to the letter engraved on the disc tray supplied with your printer. Continue with printing, and in the system's Print dialog set media type in accordance with the instructions for printing on discs found in your printer's manual.

Epson

With Disc Cover open, choose File > Change Layout… (from the File menu at the top of the screen). In the windows that comes up choose Epson (CD Tray) from the Manufacturer list, then choose Epson Tray Type 2 (CD Tray). Continue with printing, and in the system's Print dialog set media type in accordance with the instructions for printing on discs found in your printer's manual.

Note that some printers don't allow printing on discs over a wireless network, which, however, is also dependent on the device drivers provided by the printer manufacturer.

Compatibility Test

As printer manufacturers release new models on a regular basis, your printer may be supported by Disc Cover even if it is not yet listed as such. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you download a free trial version of Disc Cover and test it with your printer before making a purchase. The trial version has all the features of the full version, the only difference is that a watermark will be printed across your design.

Install the trial version of Disc Cover 3.
