Creating and Editing Custom Layouts

This dialog is used for creating and editing custom label, envelope and postcard layouts. This may be necessary when you need to print on labels, envelopes or postcards of non-standard sizes.

Custom Layout Dialog

The changes you make in the dialog can be immediately seen in the Preview area (except orientation).

You can set both Landscape and Portrait orientation.

The dialog is similar for labels and postcards but slightly differs for envelopes.

In the Name and Description fields you can type the name of the layout and a short description for it. The Paper Size pop-up menu (for labels and postcards only) lets you choose the paper size - A4 or US Letter. In the Units pop-up menu you can choose the units of measure for dimensions - either inches or millimeters.

The Size section (for labels and postcards only) contains the width, height of the label or postcard and corner radius (used for labels with rounded corners).

Custom Layout DialogThe Layout section (for labels and postcards only) determines how the labels and postcards (if several on a page) are arranged on the page:

  • Columns and Rows specify the number of columns and rows of labels/postcards.
  • Top margin - sets the distance between the top edge of the page and the first label/postcard.
  • Left margin - sets the distance between the left edge of the page and the first label/postcard.
  • Horizontal space - sets the horizontal distance between the labels/postcards.
  • Vertical space - sets the vertical distance between the labels/postcards.
  • If you wish to print the labels/postcard on a plain thick paper and then cut them manually, you may only input the height and width of labels and tick the Arrange labels automatically box.

The Envelope section (for envelopes only) describes the width and height of the envelope. If your envelope has a window, tick the Enable window box and specify the window size and offset from the bottom and left sides of the envelope in the corresponding fields.

Click OK to save the layout. Now when you need it, click on the Custom tab of the Layouts dialog and select your previously saved layout from the list of custom layouts.
