Guidelines and the Layout Grid

Guidelines

Guidelines allow you to align objects on the floor plan and mark up the layout before drawing and placing objects. When you export your floor plan as an image, guidelines do not appear in it.

To add a guideline, place your finger or mouse pointer on the horizontal or vertical ruler, and drag a guideline onto the floor plan.

To move a guideline, drag it as you do with objects.

To place a guideline at certain coordinate, zoom in as far as needed, and snap the guideline to a grid line which is the closest to the intended point.

To select a guideline, tap on it. The selected guideline becomes highlighted.

Guidelines can show a contextual menu with useful commands.

To remove a guideline, select the Delete command in the context menu.

Like other objects, guidelines are listed in the Project Tree. You can use it to lock guides or make them invisible.

Live Interior 3D also has smart guides. Smart guides are temporary guides that appear when you draw walls, floors, or ceilings, and when you move objects. Smart guides are aimed to help you align objects.
