Importing Objects
The built-in object library (especially in the download version) may not
contain all objects you need to complete your project. The program
lets you import other objects stored on your disk in the following
formats:
To import an object from the file:
- Select the Import 3D Object command from the File menu.
- Choose the format from which you want to import. Select a
file containing your object.
The object model may have references to one or several
textures. The program will try to find them in the folder
containing the selected file. If a texture was not found, the
program will ask you to select its location. The texture name will
be shown at the top of the "open file" window.
You can skip opening textures and use the materials from the
built-in library.
When you import a Google SketchUp object, two import
options are available:
- Make all surfaces double-sided to avoid invisible
surfaces: this option changes the way of importing Google
SketchUp objects. It is set by default.
- Split Object Instances: splits a compound object to get its parts as separate objects in Live Interior 3D.
See details in the Importing Google SketchUp Objects section.
- The Type and Representation dialog will open. Make the
necessary settings and click OK. You can change the settings
later if needed.
For more detail, see the Type and Representation section.
