VERDICT: Business Card Composer's strength
lies in its ease of use and flexibility; it's an excellent
piece of software and is certainly worth the money.
Business Card Composer from BeLight software lets you create
professional-looking business cards with minimal fuss and,
most importantly, without the need to be a designer.
From the outset, Business Card Composer simplifies the process.
First, you choose a design from one of eight categories, each
of which contain ten to 20 layouts. If you can't see a design
that suits, a blank card can be used. The program uses Address
Book to enter personal details in to the relevant fields.
Once you're satisfied with the data you've entered, your card
is created. The design with all your data on is then displayed,
and you can edit both design and text. Each bit of information
can be moved around, to give your creation a more personal
touch. One of the most pleasing aspects is its ability to
switch between people from your Address Book file, letting
you keep the same design for several team members. A huge
range of images is supplied; they include graphics from nature,
maps and basic shapes.
Every aspect of your card can be edited, making Business Card
Composer highly flexible. The supplied templates are varied
and plentiful, so there really is something for most tastes.
Even if the samples fail to impress, Business Card Composer
makes it easy to create your own card from scratch.
Printing options are nearly as varied as the designs. Not
only can Business Card Composer print on to a wide range of
off-the-shelf business cards from the likes of Avery, it can
connect to an online service. Shipping the card from the US
bumps the price up, though.
There's little to fault with this software: it works impeccably,
it's intuitive and above all it makes designing your own business
card less of a pain. Business Card Composer's strength lies
in its ease of use and flexibility; it's an excellent piece
of software and is certainly worth the money.
