1.BeLight Software announced a "long-term strategic collaboration"
with I.R.I.S. Group http://www.irislink.com/
with the goal of integrating OCR (optical character recognition) technologies
in BeLight's Mac OS X products. For now the companies are bundling Readiris
Pro, text recognition software that converts paper documents into editable
text (such as Word documents or PDF files), with Business Card Composer,
software for creating and printing business cards.
What is Readiris Pro? It's targeted to users who need
to transform all sorts of paper documents -- such as letters, magazines,
newspapers and faxes -- into editable files. It preserves the original
document layout with columns, graphics, tables or color pictures.
The combination of the two products allows business and
small office users to get all the advantages of converting paper documents
into digital format and ability of producing cards. This solution makes
the usage of your printer and scanner hardware more effective!
2. Panther is coming!

We are working at appropriate Composer update. It'll be ready untill
Panther's release.
So, you can get it immediately when Apple'll release their Panther!
This update contains an approved printing also.
3. Current MAC FORMAT _ issue #135 gives Composer
the highest rating - 5 mice from 5 mice!
Mark Sparrow's verdict: "Composer looks set to get better and better.
It's the perfect tool for quickly producing custom business cards in
conjunction with an inkjet print and some business card stationery".
MAC FORMAT placed Trial onto their Cover CD in the same issue.

4. Business Card Composer & Mac OS X Trick:
Sometimes you need to make a few objects (text, pictures)
in the same color.
I mean ANY graphic object in Composer or onto your screen (for example,
icons of other apps).
OS X is here to move you ahead! Open Composer and select any object
you wish to be coloured.
Then pick up a hand-glass icon onto Colors panel. You've got a hand-glass
cursor.
Now click any object with wished color, for example Finder Icon, and
selected object will be colored the same color immediately.
Try this easy trick. Enjoy yourself;-)
