Business Card Composer. Design and Print Excellent Business Cards.

Business Card Composer News - August 28th, 2003

Hello friends,

We have some good news in this issue:
-Meet current Composer update to version 1.1
-Some opinions on Composer from Apple Guru&Consultants
-Business Card Composer Tips&Tricks

1. What's is the Business Card Composer update to version 1.1?

It's The Third from a whole family of free updates by user reguest :-) The update allows user to get additional options during print and export of ready business cards and enriched input of hieroglyphical text for Composer users from Japan, China etc.

-From now our estimated user can print the cards in a printing shop also, thanks to enhanced PDF output made within all needed requirements of printing service.

-The printing at home printer is more flexible due to a raster or vector output option.
Read more information in the Business Card Composer Tips&Tricks below.

-Presently a list of supported paper layouts contains new titles from paper manufacturers:
A-ONE, Elecom, Sanwa Supply - from Japan, DECAdry and Micro Application - from Europe.

INSTALLATION NOTICE after running Update Installer:
Please keep in mind that on the Select Destinations Stage you need manually choose destination disk and folder, where the previous version of Composer is stored (Application Folder usually).

2. Our Composer got high opinion from Mac software specialists. Hurrah!

* We are happy to quote Dr.Mac (Bob LeVitus):
"I used to layout pages of cards by hand, in Photoshop or InDesign, which was a time-consuming proposition. Business Card Composer makes it much faster and easier."

* BeLight team started a long-term relationship with The Apple Consultant Network members. They highly appreciate a quality and OS X feel&look of Composer. The ACN members' feedback leads to future Composer development.

3. Business Card Composer Tips&Tricks:

* My logo is .eps file. How can I add it to my card?
Business Card Composer does not support .eps, so far. However, it perfectly supports PDF format. Save your logo as PDF from the application, used for its creation (or other graphical package). Insert this PDF image into the card and its quality will not be lost.

* Can I send my cards to the printing house?
You can use export to TIFF or exported PDF formats. Starting from the current version 1.1, the best choice will be a PDF. Why?
It?s superior in quality and the exported PDF contains special trim lines (1/8 in), which mark where the printing press will cut. So, the requirements of major print shops are considered.

* My printer is printing the page actually quite long. What I can do?
The reason is Composer contains default option sending to printer a raster image with a high resolution. Because of a looong data the printing is slow and meditative:-).
You can improve up the situation within version 1.1. Just disable "Print card as raster image" in Preferences dialog. Then the card will be sent as a vector and printing will be reanimated.
Please consider also that some jet printers don't handle the vector data correctly:-(.
Nonetheless, it's yours choice...

Wish your cards, made with love, to be well-remembered!
