The program crashes on Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 before showing up the main window. The Assistant operates normally.
Mountain Lion introduces the protection of personal data including your contacts. Every time you open Labels & Addresses, it reads contacts from your Address Book to display them in the Source panel. At the first time you start the program, the operating system asks you for permission.
“Labels & Addresses” would like to access your contacts.
If you don't allow, the program cannot access the data and crashes. Since your answer is remembered, all further attempts to to open Labels & Addresses lead to crash.
The console log in this case contains an error message that begins as follows:
Code: Select all
7/30/12 4:39:05.793 PM Labels & Addresses : Address book access is denied for executable at path…..
You need to manually allow the program access your contacts. In the System Preferences, open the Security & Privacy section. Select the Privacy tab. Find Labels & Addresses in the list and set its check box.
