Hi,
Is it possible to render a top view but not in perspective. So an orthographic view from a camera?

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the quick response.
Is this be a nice to have option for a future version?

You are the first who asks to add this feature. What for do you need such view? Sort of colored floor plan?
I will add your feature request to our list but we need a strong reason for adding extra view modes.

Yes, I'm very impressed about the program and the extensive library.
But yes, I'm searching for an application to make colored floorplans with furniture and stuff. Now I have to export the file to sketchup to render it orthographicly.
It would also be nice to have a cartoon like render option to outline the 3d objects.

It is possible to modify the floor plan in 2D view to make it look "in colors".
You can easily change the color of walls and ceiling using the Inspector, the 2D Properties tab. It's more complicated with other objects. You can replace the black and white 2D image with a colored picture in the Type and Representation dialog.

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the creative input, but this would be a time consuming way to achieve a goal. I hope you guys can let your thoughts about this case. I know that this is something that is really used a lot to make presentations for houses. So for professional use it would be great to have this topic in combination with the great looking library (and maybe a cartoon-like way of rendering the scene, but this can also be done in Photoshop).
Thanks anyway

The perspective view option would be great for printing. Customers love to see their rooms this way. Its a way better representation to show instead of a 2d view floor plan. Its a lot easier than taking the whole computer to the customer's house.
