Building on a hill/slope

Hello,

is there any way I can model the surroundings of the building? A basic thing would be a simple tilted flat surface though I would much appreciate a way to build a more realistic landscape into which I put my building.

I've just started playing with Live Interior 3D Pro so chances are I missed it (I do hope so).

Any pointers appreciated!

Hi Mars,

At the moment, the ground can be only horizontal. You can create a tilted surface artificially by adding a very large shape around the building.

Re: Building on a hill/slope

OK, thanks. When you say "at the moment", is this planned? If so do you have a rough ETA (weeks/months/years)?

That brings me to the next problem I have: I would like to add a secondary building in my plan which has a different floor layout. The main building has 2 floors, the secondary building only 1 - and its foundation is on a different elevation.

Is there a good solution for this other than putting the second building in a separate file? If I I have to do that, is there a way of creating a combined render - possibly in a non-flat terrain and with different base elevations?

Re: Building on a hill/slope

Hi,

This is feature isn't expected very soon, but it is planned. Probably it will be created in a year.

Technically, it's possible to create different floor levels in different rooms or buildings. But the existing method is helpful if one or two rooms differ from all others. If the secondary building is complicated, create it in a separate project.

To create a floor in a different level, you should add a custom floor. Such floor has the Elevation parameter in the Inspector. Also, you can add a custom ceiling and adjust its height. An image on this page explains how this works:

It's not possible to render to projects to one picture. If you need to create an outside view, you can copy a building from one project to another. You can delete all objects from that copy since only its external look is important.
