We have a number of users who encounters a program crash attempting to write a file. This happens when one saves a document or exports it to a graphic file.
Only those machines are affected on which Mac OS 10.5 was upgraded to 10.6.
Thanks to Jeremy Horwitz who discussed this problem with users on
Problems With Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard: Join The (Sizable?) Minority
and outlined two solutions described on
Two Proposed Solutions to Snow Leopard Crash Problems on Macs.
The first method is to reboot the computer into the safe mode holding down the Shift key. Then boot into the regular mode.
The second method suggests you to turn off file sharing in the System Preferences. Then you should clear the Shared Folders list. After that, turn file sharing back. Finally, log out and then log in again.
