3D effects to imported .PNG image with transparent BG

Postby nowzen » June 10th, 2016, 12:07 am

I have imported a .PNG image of a black brush stroke on a transparent field.
After I import it, it shows correctly with a transparent background.

When I click on the PNG and attempt to add effects, it makes the effect over the whole image - including the transparent field.

Any way to apply effects just to the brush stroke, not the field?

Thank you for any tips.

Hi

The Fill > Shading effect (kind of 3D effect for 2D objects) should take into account transparent areas of an imported PNG image.

3D effects are based on the vector outline of the image. A raster image with or without transparency turns into a rectangle.

Thanx, so no, can't be done. Too bad.
