Technique for scaling imported floor plan?

Postby VirtHome » March 24th, 2016, 10:30 pm

Hi, I've recently imported a complicated builders floor plan in order to simplify it for a real estate web site. Dragged and dropped in was fine, and using 3D pro it was easy to overwrite the plan. Walls, doors and windows all looked good! BUT, scale was horrendous as I ended up with some doors 45cm wide and some rooms so tiny, the measurements aren't true to the plan, the 3D version looks ridiculous. What should I have done to 'scale' the original plan so that my overwrite version had accurate measurements?

The floor plan you imported as an image must have dimensions indicating the size of the building or some objects. You can choose one of them, for instance, the length of a wall, and scale the image so that this wall has the correct length in your project. Using the Measurement tool, mark up the distance the selected wall should match. Then resize the image until the wall and added Measurement have the same size.
