2D View of Chair Seat Under Table Not Right

Postby sgytje » February 18th, 2018, 6:43 pm

Hello. I have a dining table and chairs. Sometimes when I move the chair to the table, the seat appears under the table, but sometimes the seat appears on top of the table. How can I set it up so the seat always appears under the table as it does in the 3D view?

Thank you,

Just a thought, if any part of the chair (eg. the armrests) touches the tabletop, the chair will not be hidden. If your chairs without armrests are hidden maybe you should try to either make the table higher or the chair lower to avoid any contact.

Thanks for pitching in @Roustaboutpusher, alas no part of the armchair is touching the table.

I tried it out myself. You are right, it is a flaw.

Hi, When I have had the issue of items not staying 'grounded' I've found the best solution is to check the elevation box in the inspector.
Bring elevation to zero, then lock it in. Then, regardless of where you move the chair, it will always stay on the ground.
