Hyperlink Text

Postby hoppie47 » July 2nd, 2016, 7:04 am

Hi there, this may seem very easy, but it's stumping me. In Printworks I can insert a hyperlink, but how do I actualy hyperlink text in a document.

Please advise. Thanks.

Hi Hoppie47

Did you used "smart links" from a contextual menu?
If this is the case;you can't use some text like this: "a link to Belight Software" and link this to a url (here belightsoft.com).
You have to provide a text that is the target of the link, something like : "a link to http://www.belightsoft.com".
Forget the extension: ".com, .fr, .uk..." and this 'll not work!
YOU can verify that your links are working by exporting to PDF, choose open AS PDF in preview.
You can to do the same with email addresses (but don't forget the @): "a link to support support@belight.com".
Hope this helps

Jean-Jacques, to continue the saga. I've used Microsoft Word to hyperlink text. All you have to do is type the relevant text, highlight it, go>Insert >Links>Hyperlinks>Address - When you've done this just copy & paste into Printworks document.

Hope this is useful to everyone.

thanks hoppie47, note that you may use TextEdit, type the text, select it and add a link: Edit>Add a link…

You can also add hyperlinks and emails without use of any additional software as described here:
