I have tons of them saved but the icon looks all the same.
Is there a program you guys make that will preview the file as image created with it?

The Finder can display the document preview in the rightmost column, if you activate View > as Columns.

If you have the standard icon there, you need to re-save the document to generate the preview.

Older versions didn't create the preview image. The current one does. So, you need to save .artx files in the current version. Open the Art Text document, press Cmd-S and close it. This way you generate the preview for Finder. The document icon will remain standard (it cannot display the content).

Unfortunately Art Text doesn't provide any way to automatically process documents.

This script can automate the creation of previews:
http://www.belightsoft.com/forum/pictures/at/9719/script.zip

This script adds the document previews that are displayed in Finder's rightmost column.

1. Create a backup copy of your documents.
2. Run batch.app
3. Select the folder containing Art Text documents.

The folder you choose must contain only Art Text documents. If the are other file types, the script can work in unpredictable way.

The script modifies the files located in the folder you select. Namely, it adds images which are used as previews in Finder.

Can you please send me (support@belightsoft.com) one of your documents to test the script?

Also please tell me what is the version of your operating system. To find this out, click on the Apple menu and select "About This Mac".
