Hi Nick
(AT 2.4 (build 442), OS X 10.7.2)
It seems that there're two different ways to lock layers but I'm not sure that one of them is not a bug:
#1. selecting a layer (clicking on its name or on its preview) then locking it (clicking on its padlock) works as expected: this locks the selected layer, leaving other layers as they are (locked/unlocked)
#2. if I click on a padlock without selecting a layer, this locks this layer (as expected) but now, if I click on another padlock the same way (without selecting this new layer), this inverts the previous locked layer state (so, it becomes unlocked).
Maybe this is "just" a quicker way (without the need to select a layer) to lock one specific layer.
If this is the case, you would add a few words about this in the AT documentation.

Hi Jean-Jacques,

The behavior #2 you have described should be considered as a bug. With the same versions of Mac OS and Art Text, I cannot repeat it. Once I click on the lockpad of a deselected layer, it becomes locked and selected. The locked/unlocked state remains permanently.

Hi Nick
To tell the truth, I can't easily repeat this bug!
I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, yet. ;^)
At first, I was thinking that this was related to the way a new layer was created:
Add vs Duplicate
but this doesn't seem to be so simple.

I'll try to repeat it by changing the circumstances.
