Hi,
It seems that the only way for refreshing/updating content of Address Book smart groups (from the Contacts>Recipients left pane) is to quit then relaunch LA (1.3.3, 10.6, iMac C2D 2.16GHz).
By content, I mean records not content of records.
If I add or deleted records to/from smart groups, clicking on Update button doesn't update the records list. It seems that LA reads the content of smart groups only the first time you select a smart group (maybe I'm wrong?).

Hi Jean-Jacques,

I have checked L&A 1.3.3 v368 with Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6. In both cases, the list of contacts in a smart group as well as the content of an individual contact could be updated by clicking the Update button in the Source panel.

Hi Nick,

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg!
I'm wrong.
Updating Smart groups contacts list works perfectly. :^)
Yet, what doesn't seem to work is updating contacts list from a "normal" group.
Beside that, last LA version/build seems to be v 1.3.3 Build 372.

Again, I cannot repeat this. On my computer the contacts and the list refresh by the Update button.
It appears that LA 1.3.3 (v373) exists, so you can update LA too ;-)

If you can repeat the problem easily, maybe you can give me more details how to do that.

Hi Nick
(LA v1.3.3 build 373)
What is working perfectly is refreshing/updating list of records and content of records of a smart group.
Note that list of (normal and smart) groups are correctly updated from LA when creating/deleting groups from AB.

What is not working is refreshing/updating list of records and content of records of a (normal) group when clicking "Update" button from the Contacts pane of LA.

A "funny" thing is that if you create a smart group that contains all records of a normal group then add a record to this normal group (and so, make this record part of the smart group too) you can update list of records of this smart group but not list of records of the (original) normal group. This can be used as a workaround.

Here're the steps I use to update AB group content from LA:
- firstly, the two apps are closed
- I launch LA
- then choose a document type and format/size (say Avery Labels…)
- from the Contacts pane, I select Address Book as recipients data source then select a (normal!) group
- the records list appears
- now I wish to add a record to this group
- so I launch AB
- add a record to this normal group
- then from LA, I click on the Update button (at the top right of the Contacts pane) and nothing changes
The records list remains the same. The main problem occurs when changing content of fields.

Note that I've just updated OS X to 10.6.2 without any difference.

A last word: this bug doesn't seem to be present when using OS X 10.5.8 and LA 1.3.3 (373).

Right! My fault was, I checked LA only on 10.5 at the second time. With 10.6.2, the problem repeats. Thank you!
