Hi Nick,
When opening some (if not all?) templates (from the ones that came with SP 1.xx), some images are missing:
- seems like there're the ones from the background layer
- a empty frame remains at the same place, I may add a stroke to it but nothing else (no way to add Fill/Shadow or Edit in IT plug-in…)
Try this with "Always on Time" for ex.

Hi,
Thank you for information.

I have checked "Always on Time" and "Customer Care". There weren't any images that does not allow to change Fill/Shadow or open in the Edit plug-in.
Some Smart Shapes were made invisible for making complicated text wrapping. But such shapes get visible by changing their Line and Fill color.

Principally it is possible, that an image is missing. You can help us by sending a screenshot that shows a selected blank/hidden image (I need this to see its layer and location in the layout).
The way you installed SP may be important. Did you install the last version by using the full installer or by updating the 2.0 version?

Hi Nick,
This is what I get when opening old SP 1.xx templates with SP 2.02 (249):
- Bistrot
Image

- Always on Time
(The empty frame you can see (bottom right) is what I get when clicking on the background layer at the place where a "girl" photo should be (see the preview from the Assistant).)

Image

I don't remember how I made the update(s) :^(
From 1.3x to 2.0 to 2.02 (244) to 2.02 (249)? Not sure when this problem occured.

Note that missing images aren't in the document package (there're only the xml file and the Preview folder inside the package of these templates).

Hope this helps.

Hi Jean-Jacques,

I will begin from the end. The document package of the template document does not have images. Instead of them, links to clipart images are used. This lets us making the installation package smaller - images are not duplicated in it.

The absence of images in templates means SP cannot find those images in the clipart.

What is interesting in your screenshots.
1. The upper one. There are basic shapes missing. Basic Shapes are present in all installations. It seems SP cannot find the clipart folder.
2. The lower screenshot. The missing image with a girl seems to be selected in the Foreground layer when is must be in Background.

Try to re-install SP from scratch.

Hi Nick,
Note that none of the new templates (from v2.xx) have missing images (Fashion for ex.).
About "Always on time", the missing image (or the selected empty frame) is on the background layer. I made this screenshot with Background layer selected.
I have no problem to access to the Cliparts library from SP2 (Smart shapes or other images).

May I try to install a new v2.02 without to lose cliparts from the box edition?

Hi,
Install the full SP 2.0.2 leaving the clipart from the boxed version. The installer of the download version will not remove images.

Hi Nick,
Sorry for the delay:
I've re-installed SP2 and all works perfectly :^)
