Iphone screen layout for app design.

Postby rtbfletch » July 20th, 2014, 3:29 pm

Hello,

First time Swift user here and first time app developer. I am developing an iphone app and I need to create blank layouts on paper for design. I want to draw rectangles with a Height-89.9mm and Width-49.2125mm, which is about the size of the iphone screen from my measurements. (I actually probably need/want to start design on the upcoming bigger screen but don't know the dimensions yet.) I want the blank layouts to look like the picture below with measurements lining the sides in millimeters. Can anyone give me a quick tutorial on how you might accomplish this in Swift? Any input and much thanks to whoever helps me get closer to my goal!! :D

Thank you!

Hi,

You can draw your "ruler" using the Spline tool. Not the whole but for one centimeter. Then group the result and make copies of it. Place the copies in line.

For better accuracy, draw at 10x scale (1cm gaps instead of 1mm). Then group the completed horizontal or vertical ruler and make it 10 times smaller using the Inspector.
