Background color not showing when exported

Postby j4strategies » June 2nd, 2014, 3:39 pm

I've created a document with two layers. The background layer has a color. When I export the file to a PDF/JPEG it shows up with a white background behind my text. What step am I missing? And yes, the background is not locked. Help!

Hi j4strategies
First of all, I rewrote my previous answer because it was not really accurate, sorry.

I suppose that the "Lock" tool you're talking about is the one with the little eye.
This tool makes a layer visible (so, exportable and printable) or invisible (so, not exportable/printable).

So, how have you added a color to the background layer?
- With a shape filled with color?
- Using the "Simulate paper color" (Document tab of the inspector)?
The "Simulate paper color" tool just adds a background color on screen to help designer to see how a document will look when printed on a color paper.
This color is not exported/printed.
You could try to add an image to the background layer or to add another layer and see what happens when exporting or printing.
