Saving oddity - cannot over-write

Hello (again),

I am using ver 3.8.1 on an Apple Mac running OSX 10.7.5 (Yep, still).

When I posted earlier I could edit a file and click the "save" option and the new version replaced the original. (I am working on copies so my original, originals are secure.) But now, and for no reason I can figure, "save" returns a message along the lines of "you do not have sufficient rights". I have to save to a different file name and then delete the original. I am the owner of the files when I check the properties and have full read/write access. No other package I currently use has an issue. :?:

Any thoughts? 'Cos I am stuck! Oh and I have a fair experience in troubleshooting computer issues.

Can you check what Console log says when you try to save a file? To get console log, run Console from Applications/Utilities folder, click there "File > Open Quickly > System Log Queries > All Messages".

Hi Ajax,

Just to let you know, I tried again it the save worked i.e. it over-wrote the original,

I am pretty busy over the next few days but will try again next weekend.
