Can anyone explain how to bring about a gradient color effect?

To keep this simple, let's say I have a large 'A' - maybe 72 point, so it is a pretty big letter.

The background is white because I am using a white sheet of paper.

How would I change the color of the 'A' - starting at the top of the letter, and going to the bottom of the letter? (In the olden days, back in the 1980s, we used to call that the Baseline.)

Similarly, I would like to change the background color at the same time, so that the letter's colors are effectively reversed when you get to the bottom.

Maybe the documentation mentions how to do this, but I must have missed it somewhere. Do I go to the Inspector? What do I click next?

Thanks!

Hi Beta_Zeroid,
It seems that the only way to add gradient to text or other objects (shapes…) is to use Art Text plug-in (Insert>Art Text).
Note that when filling text with gradient into Art Text, you have to type text in Art Text not in BCC.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, that sounds like a good idea. I will try it out as soon as I can.
