Please forgive me if this has been covered here. I'm using a Canon MG5400 which has a simple disc slot for printing CD's. Try as I may, I'm clearly missing something with my attempts to stop the darn print coming out way off centre.
I've attempted to calibrate by printing off an A4 sheet with its number graph but that's as far as I get. Am I missing something ?

It sounds like you had calibrated your printer to print on paper and then printed on a disc with some offset. If this is correct, you need to print the calibration rulers on a disc because the paper and disc trays are two independent mechanisms.
Please make sure that the correct CD/DVD tray is selected. Canon Tray Type F,G should be compatible with your printer. There can be a letter engraved on the tray.
Other possible mistakes:
• You could print the calibration sheet in the draft mode, but switch to higher quality for actual printing.
• The system Print dialog has the Presets option. When it is not set to Default Settings, some printing settings that apply automatically can affect the printout.
