BeLight Software Team
David Joost, General Manager, BeLight Software USAWhat a fortunate event it was for me indeed, when BeLight Software contacted me and asked me to be their North American representative. Our mutually rewarding working relationship was further enhanced when I was called upon to help the company form and run its USA division, BeLight Software USA, LLC. BeLight Software products empower the everyday Macintosh user to explore his/her own creativity and unlock the potential lying within. They are elegantly designed, easy to use and unlock a world rich with possibilities. The BeLight team is a tightly-knit, family-like group comprised of some of the sweetest, most generous and friendly people I have ever met. I am honored to be working with them to help achieve their goals. I have enjoyed a very exciting and rewarding career in the Macintosh software field. Almost anyone I bump into now recognizes my point of reference when I mention my time with Bungie Software, the developers of the ultra-successful Halo game series for Xbox. I have been a Mac man from way back…I used to sneak into the Macintosh labs at Illinois State in 1984 even after I had graduated and wasn’t technically authorized to use their resources. Oh well, using the early Macs was just too great of a temptation! Now I am proud to use my iMac to run my business, keep in touch with friends and colleagues all over the world, organize photos and most important, work on my own music projects. I currently live in the southside suburbs of Chicago, Illinois with my beloved family. I married Margaret O’Leary in May 1993 (still the smartest move I ever made) and we have been blessed with two charming and delightful children, Katie in 1995 and Daniel in 1997. I am truly excited about what the future holds for Macintosh and BeLight! My favorite music: Most American and British pop/rock from late 1950s to present. Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Beatles, Ray Charles, The Who, Rolling Stones, U2, Led Zeppelin, Elvis Presley, Sun Records/Memphis artists, Warren Zevon, Fleetwood Mac/Lindsey Buckingham, Bob Dylan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Queen, The Guess Who. Blues artists like Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Elmore James and Slim Harpo. Artists from the 70s like Styx, Kansas, REO Speedwagon and Foghat. Country legends like Hank Williams, George Jones, Johnny Cash. My favorite movies: The Godfather trilogy, LA Confidential, Gone with the Wind, Wizard of Oz, The Right Stuff, Cast Away, Braveheart, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Last Samurai, Almost Famous, The Sixth Sense, Gladiator, It’s a Wonderful Life, Collateral, The Green Mile, Paper Moon, O Brother, Where Art Thou? Favorite Authors: John Steinbeck, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, James Michener, John Irving, Dave Eggers, Charles Dickens.
